My name is Shafeq. I’m a college student pursuing a career in federal law enforcement and protective services. Starting experience in the private security industry in addition to emergency response work, has built a strong foundation to further pursue my career goal. I’ll be transferring to Jersey City University next year and will be working towards my B.S. in National Security Studies. I’m an avid movie viewer and enjoy discussing politics, especially on a global level.

My name is Asim. I am Muslim. I attend college at BCC. I strive to obtain knowledge that is both beneficial and true. I like helping people with the knowledge I obtained, by sharing it with whoever has the will to learn the truth. I try to call anyone and everyone on the right path, which is Islam. I study Computer Drafting and Design, but have a strong will to begin studying the Qur’an and the fundamental ideas that it talks about. If God wills, I would like to become an Imam and help educate people about the way of life, Islam.

My name is Afroze Khan, InshaAllah this is my last semster at BCC. I am like a sponge when it comes to learning about my religion and I thought this class would be a great opportunity to expand my knowledge. It is always interesting to see Islam from different angles and I think this class will help provide that. My hobbies include reading/reciting the Quran, watching Islamic lectures and playing basketball. My long term goal is to realize the true miracle of the Quran and die a true believer.

My name is Elman. I always love to study the comparative religion. So after studying the comparative religion i have to come to know for a fact that Islam is the only true religion. And it is a way of life, such an organized way of life that i realized every human being should live following it and obviously its only for their own betterment. Anyways, long story short one of my goal is to be achieve a bachelar degree in Pharmacy as i really want to be a Pharmacist. And side by side another goal of mine is to preach Islam regardless wherever environment i am/will be in.

Hello! My name is James Yankowsky. I am finishing up my last semester at Bergen, majoring in religious studies, and hoping to attend Columbia University in the fall for my Bachelor’s Degree. Eventually, i hope to obtain my Master’s Degree and teach comparative religion and mythology at the college level. My interest lies mainly in eastern philosophies, and specifically Buddhism; but through the eastern traditions i have come to appreciate what the west has to offer. I look forward to learning more about Islam!

Hi guys, my name is Meleiqe but my friends and family call me Mally for short. I have 3 sisters and one brother. I chose to take this class because i am born and raised to be muslim. However, despite the fact that i am born and raised, i don’t actually know too much about the religion other than the basic rules and facts. I used to go to a mosque every week when i was younger but as i grew up, my family and i couldn’t make time on the weekends for it because my parent’s work schedules changed. I thought that taking this class could possibly answer some questions that i have had about certain things in my religion. This will be my last semester in BCC before i transfer to William Patterson University to get my masters degree in special education teaching. That’s about it 🙂
