MASJID STUDY

Post your group’s ethnographic report on the masjid in this thread. All papers are due no later that Thursday 12/14/06.

 

MID-TERM, Tuesday 11/30/06

We will have our in-class midterm covering the following topic:

– Core beliefs in Islam (Pillars, Faith, etc.)
– The Life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
– The theme of selected shorter surah

 

FINAL PAPER on a LONGER SURAH, due Final Week.

From the assigned text, choose a longer surah. Read thoroughly. Provide the history and context of its revelation. Next, provide your own interpretation. what it means to you and how the message can be of importance to your life as an American  living in this complex world. Your paper must be well-researched and well documented using the MLA or APA system.
